Football Department Roles – January 2024

All roles are remunerated and come with great perks such as free parking in Fremantle, SFFC apparel, membership and tickets to events.

WAFL Ground Manager

Manage the grounds operations on game day for WAFL and WAFLW. Someone that is a great communicator, efficient and reliable that are available on weekends. (March – September)

  • Open and secure facility
  • Check ground markings / coaches box / media area and benches
  • Put goal post padding up and down (physical)
  • Ensure away team, support staff, volunteers and media know where they are positioned
  • Collect teamsheets from team managers
  • Escort the umpires on/off the ground as required

Timekeepers

Timekeeping duties on game day for all programs. 

  • To ensure the game starts and finishes on time
  • To sound a siren at the start and finish of each quarter.
  • To keep the time of each quarter on timecards and send through to the WAFL Operations
  • To keep a record of scores for use by the controlling body in the event of the Goal Umpires’ cards not agreeing

Sports Trainers

The club is looking for qualified sports trainers across all programs (Male, Female and Talent) or those interested in completing a sports trainer’s course for FREE and coming onboard as a trainer for season 2024. You will be required one training night per week and game day (weekends)

  • Prepping players for both trainings and games, including relevant sports taping and sports massage.
  • Immediate on-field injury management.
  • Match-day player hydration.
  • Assisting other members of the medical team to prepare equipment for game days.
