Player Column – Josh Pullman Round 13

Friday, June 17, 2016 - 10:13 AM by Josh Pullman

IT was tough watching the boys go down to East Fremantle in such a big game like the Foundation Derby on WA Day. I was a late withdrawal, and I think viewing from the sidelines gets harder the longer your career goes on.

Watching the game gives you the opportunity to see our brand of footy and the execution of game plan from a coach’s perspective though, which I found valuable.

We took some important things away from the game, and are looking forward to going toe to toe with the Sharks later in the year again now that we have got one win each against each other, and at least at the moment we both look capable of being there come finals time.

In the meantime, we’ve got a talented side in Peel to wrestle with on Sunday down in Mandurah.

Among a number of other strengths, Peel have some good contested ball players and players with foot speed that we’ll need to be on our toes for.

They like it down there on their home deck, and their home crowd can get up and about as quick as any other team in the WAFL. They are on a bit of a winning streak now and they beat Subiaco in their last game so we certainly understand how good of a team they are.

We’re looking forward to testing ourselves in that environment, and will be aiming to get back on the winners list.
